The atrocities against women are mounting and doesn’t seem to have a stopping point anytime soon. Wisconsin is passing a bill that will make single parenting illegal. This is what state Rep. Donald Pridemore (R-Hartford) said about this bill
The bill says a child being raised by a single mother could be considered living in an abusive situation and because of that, a woman should not jump into a divorce, but rather look at alternatives…
This bill is basically condoning spousal abuse. Furthermore, if spouses are physically abused, than the children also are likely to be physically abused as well. Yet, that’s not what state Sen. Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend) believes. He states that the traditional family is “in crisis” and his bill will actually be preventing child abuse because
A child is 20 times more likely to be sexually abused if they are raised by say, a mother and a boyfriend, than their mother and father.
While these two misogynistic chumps are specifically targeting women, the bill doesn’t just affect single mothers. It also affects single fathers. Abusive relationships aren’t comprised only of a husband physically and mentally abusing a wife. A wife can physically and mentally abuse a husband. What about widows and widowers? Will they be persecuted for their single parent status due to circumstances beyond their control? I pity and military spouses who lost their loved ones in the line of duty and happen to live in Wisconsin.
May I also add that this piece of
crap legislation hits me below the belt even though I don’t live in Wisconsin. As the proud progeny of a single parent, I have been fortunate to have a mother strong enough to fight for me and to suport me. I’m more than happy and content with my life because of her courageous action in leaving my misogynistic “father.” If things were different, I would not have the higher education that I enjoy. I would not be on the road to a Ph. D (the first in my family). If things were different, the outcome of my life would be bleak indeed.
Added to the growing list, Georgian state Rep. Terry England compared women to farm animals! This lovely misogynist
was speaking in favor of HB 954, which makes it illegal to obtain an abortion after 20 weeks even if the woman is known to be carrying a stillborn fetus or the baby is otherwise not expected to live to term.
Why doesn’t he think this is a problem for women? This is what he “recalled” on the state floor:
Life gives us many experiences…I’ve had the experience of delivering calves, dead and alive. Delivering pigs, dead or alive. It breaks our hearts to see those animals not make it.

Now women are comparable to cows and pigs. What’s next? Will we revert back to being luggage? What’s wrong with the wives, sisters, mothers, grandmothers of these tyrannically misogynistic representatives?
If this latest atrocity isn’t enough, Soraya Chemaly of the Huffington Post created a list of growing crimes — in the form of legislation — against women.
- Making women carry still-born fetuses to full term because cows and pigs do.
- Consigning women to death to save a fetus.
- Criminalizing pregnancy and miscarriages and arresting, imprisoning and charging women…
- Forcing women to undergo involuntary vaginal penetration (otherwise called rape)…
- Disabling women or sacrificing their lives…
- Giving zygotes “personhood” rights while systematically stripping women of their fundamental rights.
- Inhibiting, humiliating and punishing women for their choices to have an abortion for any reason…
- Allowing employers to delve women’s private lives and only pay for insurance when they agree, for religious reasons, with how she choses to use birth control.
- Sacrificing women’s overall health…
- Depriving women of their ability to earn a living and support themselves and their families.
I highly recommend reading the rest of Soraya’s article, Legislators: Women Are Not Cows and Pigs. Her rhetoric is enough to get any women who reads it fired up and as angry as her.
If there are any women who doubted this was a War on Women before now, what do they think after being compared to farm animals? When will it be enough? When we’re “property” again?
With the laws mounting against women, how many women will have sex — or even want to touch a man — between now and November? How many women will seek out any kind of relationship with men?
The more we consider a relationship, the deeper we travers into a relationship with a man, the more control is exerted on a woman. Her body will not be her own. It will be public property.
Will there ever be a time when our equality will be acknowledged? Exorcise your right to speak up, voice your anger, scream it at the top of your lungs. More importantly VOTE. Show these
jerks legislatures they cannot shove their religious and moral beliefs onto us, that we have our own minds. We are perfectly capable of taking responsibility of our own bodies. Keep your metaphorically rapist laws out of my freaking uterus!!!
